Tonight we'll fly to Ohio and at the end of this week we'll be driving back here to California. Ample time will be had to smell the roses and we have no plan aside from stops in
North Platte, Nebraska (
largest train yard in the US),
Badlands National Park in South Dakota,
Devil's Tower in Wyoming, and
Yellowstone National Park. Other than that we hope to stumble and chance upon weird, interesting, and beautiful places. Your suggestions are welcome.
The computer's coming along so expect updates and photos along the way.

Scenic suggestions:
Malabar Farm, near Mansfield, OH.
The buffalo herd at Little Big Horn near Wisdom, Montana.
...then, maybe you could 'take a dip' down off your pre-routed path and visit Miller Motorsports Park. It's just about 10 miles South of Salt Lake City, UT.
I believe it's located in a rural town called Tooele.
Have a great journey.
Hey! I just learned about that rail yard in The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet
have fun!!!
Gee, that reminded me of 'Etchosketch'...
Forgive my spelling.
Wow what a great trip.
I would stay on 90 and go through Misoula Mt then through Coeurd'Alene ID. Then back to the 5 through the Columbia Gorge.
