Diana Krall

She could be just another jazz singer sitting in a corner of a restaurant were it not for the sum of her parts. But the complete package -- the looks, the expressive piano playing, the dry, carefully etched vocals -- has made her a phenomenon, able to take her music places other, more accomplished jazz musicians can't go.

From a review of Diana Krall's recent show over in Oakland.

I have to say that I'm not a fan of Ms. Krall. Maybe because she's done bad car commercials up here that I found really annoying. Her music is competent and heavily marketed but not interesting enough to get me to sit up and take notice.

I wonder which places she goes that more accomplished musicians are barred from?????
